Beadwork is a very ancient art form. Originally beads were made of stone, wood, bone, pottery and shell. Today they are still made of those same original materials but can also be found in glass, crystal, paper and acrylic. Throughout these pages you will find several items made of beads. The beads used are glass beads unless otherwise stated in the item description. There are many ways to use beads, some are strung to make necklaces and bracelets. Others are embroidered onto existing material to adorn gloves, coats and shoes. A bead loom can be used to make belts, guitar straps etc. I concentrate on several old stitches that allow me to create beautiful items. The stitches I use are called Peyote (or gourd), Brick stitch and Square stitch. The square stitch looks like a loomed piece but is actually hand sewn a single bead at a time. Each item description will list the stitch(es) used in it's creation. Unless otherwise stated I prefer to use seed beads both Czech and Delica. If you are interested in purchasing any item or ordering a spcialty design please go to my contact page for more information. Enjoy browsing through my beadwork pages.
